Cindy Crook is the author and founder gpsrerouting.com. g.p.s. rerouting: God’s Purpose for Special Needs is a blog authored by Cindy. Let her tell you how it come to be born: “ I am the mother of three amazing kids, wife to a fabulous husband, volunteer on every committee and social coordinator in all my circles.” To say that I am a planner would be the understatement of the year. I like to map out my life so it fits in a neat, perfect box …my husband absolutely loves this about me (wink, wink). But when my oldest daughter was born with special needs there was no plan in place. I was lost…this blog is about how I re routed my GPS to find my way.”
The older I get, the more I realize I don’t have much figured out. But I’m very sure of 3 things: God is love, God is good, and God is faithful. I’m pretty much spending the rest of my life figuring out how to live consistently with those three things (and teach my kids the same), along with my best understanding of what the rest of the Bible tells us about who God is, who we are, and how we should live.
I live in the Atlanta area (so many of my musings happen while sitting in traffic) with my wife of 20 years and our 3 awesome kids – so yes, the days are long but the years are short. My day job is in IT Infrastructure (hours of boredom when everything works, moments of terror when it doesn’t). Other than spending time with my family and reading, for fun I entertain onlookers who find it humorous to watch an old, out of shape guy attempt to do Tae Kwon Do.

Chuck was born and raised in Alabama, and—except for a short stint in Tennessee—he’s been here all of his life. He’s the son of two wonderful Christian parents and the younger brother to two God-loving sisters. In 1990 God brought Melony into his life, they were married in 1992, and she’s blessed him ever since. They are the proud parents of four children: Bailey (22), Grant (20), Logan (18), and Griffin (15).
Chuck has served three churches as Preaching Minister since 1995, and most recently he’s been with the Hoover Church of Christ since 2004. He has degrees in Math (B.S.), Speech (M.A.), and Theology (M.Div.), and he’s currently working on his Doctor of Ministry at Beeson Divinity School. In addition to his local ministry, he has gone on eleven short-term mission trips to New Zealand, Myanmar, Guyana, and Tanzania. He teaches as an adjunct instructor of Religious Studies for Faulkner University’s Birmingham campus and enjoys speaking at different churches on various biblical topics.
Besides family and ministry, Chuck enjoys reading, writing, and various sports. Sometimes he gets serious about running to stay in shape, and sometimes he gets serious about not running at all.
